Imagine grabbing a blanket and getting cozy in a comfortable recliner chair or sectional without any interrupts from work, family, social media or demands of life. That’s right, no one else is around, just you are enjoying some quiet time. Within that time, maybe you decide to read a book; meditate; binge watch your favorite show or your favorite football team while wishing that your team make it to the playoffs. If you’re looking for the best, most comfortable way to sit back and relax at home, you may be in the market for a recliner.
Recliners have come a long way from the enormous piece of furniture your grandparents sat in. Today you do not have to sacrifice style for comfort, as there are tons of attractive options on the market that will change the way you think about recliners. Whether you want to keep it simple or prefer to go all out with a top tier recliner you’ll never want to get out of, here are two features to look for when you a shopping for a recliner chair for your home:
A zero-gravity recliner is a chair that is designed to place you in a position in which there is no force of gravity acting on the body. The zero-gravity position was originally designed by NASA for astronauts launching into space. In the zero-gravity position, you’re reclined with your legs above the heart level, which optimizes blood circulation; reduces pressure on your neck, back, and legs; and gives you the perfect angle of full relaxation.
The power lumbar is located above the seat of the reclining chair. It provides support for the lower back and relieves pressure. It fills in the gap that occurs between your upper back and waist; the lumbar straightens out the body posture. Some power lumbar has a massage component to relax muscles and tension. There is typically one or two control buttons to adjust the lumbar for a personalized sit that caters to your body type.
If you are in the market shopping for a recliner chair, be sure to look for recliners with the zero-gravity and lumbar components for extra comfort and support. Recliners wall clearance typically requires to be positioned 5 inches away from the wall. With this minimum of space, you can change the layout of your room easier and without the recliner damaging your wall.
